How did Oak and Leaf Start?

Oak and Leaf sprouted in the pandemic's shadow when the 'new normal' was a WFH-gym repeat kind of life.

Every day felt the same: wake up, work from home, lift, repeat. I remember feeling like my routine was getting flat. I still cared about how I showed up, but there wasn’t anything that marked the moment. Nothing that said, “Alright, let’s go.”

I wasn’t about to go back to teenage body spray. And wearing a heavy luxury cologne to the gym felt like I was trying way too hard.

So I built what I wished existed.

I set off to create something intentional and functional: a lighter, cleaner fragrance designed for everyday movement. Crisp bamboo. Bright citrus. No overpowering musk. Just something that feels good, subtle, and put-together without announcing itself.

Day Spray is small enough to throw in your gym bag or keep on your desk. It’s the last thing I put on before I head out (I actually even keep it by my door). It’s a simple ritual, but it flips a switch.

Oak & Leaf isn’t about smelling loud.
It’s about elevating the ordinary and showing up with intention - even on a Tuesday.

 

Why the name "Oak and Leaf"?

An oak tree is strong because of its roots.
Its leaves are what the world sees.

That balance stuck with me.

Who we are at our core, our values, discipline, faith, work ethic, that’s the root system. But how we show up every day? That’s the leaf. It’s visible and it represents us.

Oak & Leaf is built on the idea that those two things should align.

The way you present yourself, what you wear, how you carry yourself, even the scent you put on before heading out, should reflect who you actually are. Not a costume. Not trying too hard. Just intentional.

When your roots are strong and your presentation matches that foundation, you don’t have to force anything.

You just show up as yourself...

...and that’s enough.
